Job Summary: The Business Development Manager oversees the day-to-day and long-term business development operations of our company. They will play a key role in growing our operations and increasing our market position by strategically locating and generating new business opportunities and relationships with clients in a variety of industries.
Job Responsibilities:
- Oversee the day-to-day and long-term business development operations of our company;
- Develop, execute, and manage strategic plans to increase business opportunities, sales channels, and client networks;
- Set and coordinate internal business development policies, practices, and objectives and delegate resources and personnel accordingly;
- Collaborate with other senior-level managers and executives to establish and implement objectives for long-term growth and present recommendations for business development;
- Analyze and assess corporate finances, performance metrics, and forecasts to set business development goals;
- Regularly measure Key Performance Indicators to ensure sales targets are being met;
- Communicate with clients throughout project timelines to ensure continued satisfaction with product and service offerings;
- Create reports documenting sales performance and business development progress;
- Collect client feedback and provide recommendations to other senior managerial staff;
- Conduct market research and follow software development and information technology industry trends to evaluate options for further growth and priority client industries for business development;
- Work with small and medium business owners to identify existing business concerns and provide custom solutions or upsell existing Global Variable products as required;
- Identify and pursue business expansion opportunities by discovering and contacting potential new clients;
- Build relationships with existing clients and recommend Global Variable Inc. products and services in response to needs;
- Create promotional materials and conduct presentations to existing and prospective business partners and clients;
- Represent Global Variable Inc. at conferences, industry events, and other networking events;
- Participate in regular performance, revenue, and profitability reviews with other senior-level staff members; and
- Other duties as required.
Minimum Skills Requirements:
- A post-secondary degree or diploma in business administration, business management, commerce, information technology, software development, or a related field is required;
- At least two (2) years of experience in a sales or business development position is required;
- Prior managerial experience is a strong asset;
- Must be dependable, reliable and have effective organizational skills.
